TRURO GETS IN WORLD CUP SPIRIT FOR ANNUAL CARNIVAL
4 July 2014
The capital of Cornwall is set to get into World Cup spirit this month when it adopts a Brazilian theme for its annual carnival.
The carnival, which snakes its way through Truro each and every July, will bring the city to life on July 12 when hundreds of samba dancers party their way through the streets.
With the city just a few miles from the Valley’s luxury holiday cottages in Cornwall the event is sure to attract at least a few of our guests, eager to see the sights, sounds and atmosphere of Rio de Janeiro’s famous carnivals come to Cornwall.
The event is set to be bigger better and more community focussed than in previous years and a new committee has been working hard to get plans in place ahead of the event.
There are sure to be sounds of Samba all around Truro from 6pm on the day of the Carnival, which starts and finishes at Hendra Park.
The fun isn’t confined to the carnival, however. A fun day will take place in the park while art workshops will also be hosted as part of the event.
