SKI SLOPE PLANS TO GO AHEAD IN TRURO
16 August 2014
Plans for a dry ski slope on the outskirts have been approved by Cornwall Council, with work on the slope possibly set to start before the end of the summer.
The slope, which will be Cornwall’s first, is set to be built at Killiow Estate just outside Cornwall’s capital.
The news comes after a lengthy planning process where there was some opposition to the plans, but now nine of 14 councillors responsible for making a decision whether to allow the slope to be built have decided the scheme is a good idea.
Which means people on holidays in Cornwall cottages could be enjoying a spot of slope action and some apres ski drinks as early as this winter.
The plan will see the slope built using a different surface to what is traditionally used on dry ski slopes – which should “transform the experience”.
So now when you think of a trip to Cornwall it shouldn’t just be images of sun, sea and surf that spring to mind, but slopes and snow too!
