DOLPHINS PUT ON STUNNING PLAYTIME DISPLAY ON CORNISH BEACH
1 August 2014
If you’re a lover or an aficionado of marine wildlife and you’re planning your Cornwall cottage holidays then it may be worth a visit to Gwithian Beach, not far from Truro and Carnon Downs.
Last week holidaymakers were revelling in the delightful summer sun. People were playing on the beach and enjoying the warmer water temperatures by paddling in the shallows when they were treated to a rather spectacular surprise. Visitors who were in Gwithian at the time can now strike ‘swimming with dolphins’ off their bucket list as they received the show of a lifetime from a school of wild dolphins. The playful mammals laid on a showcase of their skills just metres from bathers off a beach at Gwithian.
Holidaymakers and beach-goers were awe-inspired by seeing a trio of dolphins leaping out of the water. It seemed as though they were enjoying the weather and bathing water along with everyone else!
They could be seen jumping and diving right near the shoreline and one lucky visitor fortunately managed to take a picture. That lucky person was Mary-Anne Drabble, who captured the moment on camera and as you would have expected she described it as an "amazing" experience.
