SAVE THE DATE: NEWQUAY SEAFOOD FESTIVAL
22 August 2014
Don’t miss out on one of Cornwall's best-loved seafood festivals while on your luxury self-catering UK holiday in the region. From September 12th-14th the Newquay Fish Festival once again graces us with its presence.
The festival is anticipating an estimated 20,000 visitors to enjoy a multitude of mouth-watering tasters, cooking demos, talks and live music, all of which dedicated to celebrating the town's fishing heritage, its lasting fisherman and the local culture.
Hosted at Newquay harbour which recently had a major upgrade of facilities for its fishermen, the festival returns for its 12th year.
The festival will feature demonstrations by winner of BBC MasterChef James Nathan and a host of other top chefs; entertainment from a band of pirates from Isle of White who will be reminding visitors of Cornwall's dangerous seafaring history, a grand fish and chip ball on Saturday night and performances by high wire acrobats, Swamp Circus.
Running across two days, this fantastic event will be simply brimming with fishy delights including opportunities to taste scrumptious, fresh produce straight from the sea.
The harbour will be the setting for all of the fabulous fish and seafood produced from one of the most important ports on the north coast alongside a large selection of craft and food stalls and music.
Visitors can also make the most of the opportunity to delve into the harbour's 200-year history while they are there too.
