SPECTACULAR BLUE SHARK IMAGES TAKEN IN CORNWALL WINS IN BRITISH WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY AWARDS

Spectacular blue shark images taken in Cornwall wins in British Wildlife Photography Awards

Anyone who has had the pleasure of staying on holiday in luxury Cornwall accommodation will be aware of what wonderful opportunities there are to capture wonderful images of all different kinds. Nothing showcases this more than one of the winners of the British Wildlife Photography Awards 2014.

The successful entry was of a spectacular Blue Shark taken in Cornwall by Alexander Mustard, which won the British Nature in Black and White category and the Coast and Marine category.

Along with this superb demonstration of skilled photography were a full host of other spectacular winners.

• Botanical Britain – Philip Braude, from London, Green And Red Telephone Box, London;
• Habitat – Ruth Asher, from Cholsey, Oxfordshire, A Life At Sea For Nesting Gannets, Shetland Isles;
• Close to Nature – Jim Greenfield, from Harrogate, North Yorkshire, Grey Seal Claws, Lincolnshire;
• British Seasons – Andrew Parkinson, from Crich, Derbyshire, Hares, Derbyshire;
• Documentary Series – Nick Upton, from Corsham, Wiltshire, Hazel Dormouse Monitoring, Somerset;
• Urban Wildlife – Lee Acaster, from Wortham, Suffolk, The Tourist, Greylag Goose, London;
• British Nature in Black and White – Alexander Mustard, from Peterborough, Blue On Black, Blue Sharks, Cornwall;
• Wildlife in HD Video – Rebecca Payne, from New Bridge, Wales, Tide, Cornwall;
• WildPix Young People’s Awards:
• Under 12 – Wiliam Bowcutt, from Lutterworth, Leicestershire, Dipper With Grubs, Dumfries;
• 12 to 18s – Joshua Burch, from Carshalton Sutton, On The Prowl Fox, South London;
• School Award Year 5 and 6 pupils – Michael Drayton Junior School, Nuneaton, Warwickshire.
