Rare seahorse discovered off North Cornish Coast.

A local fisherman has discovered a seahorse off the North Cornish Coast near Newquay.

There have been plenty of alleged sightings of seahorses, but in the past 30 years there have only been 14 actual confirmed sightings.

The seahorse discovered was a short snouted seahorse and was found clinging to a crab pot four miles off Towan Head. Seahorses are a protected species so if you are holidaying in family friendly cottages in Cornwall you too may get the chance to spot one...if you do see one, don’t forget to take a photo!
