Cornwall Wildlife Trust set to receive £1 million

March 17th, 2016

The Big Lottery Fund will be helping out the Your Shore Beach Ranger Project by giving £1 million to the Cornwall Wildlife Trust.

The Fund is investing £33 million in 31 organisations to inspire and develop the next generation of environmental leaders, with Your Shore Beach Rangers Project being one of these.

The Cornwall Wildlife Trust will be using the money to work within Cornish coastal communities and with young people over the coming years to get them involved with the environment and conservation.

The Big Lottery Fund is investing the money as part of their movement ‘Our Bright Future’ which aims to tackle three challenges: a lack of social cohesion, a lack of opportunities for young people, and a vulnerability to climate change.

In Cornwall the Wildlife Trust will be running events to raise awareness with young people and get them involved with marine conservation, from places all across the county, from Bude to Penzance, Falmouth to Looe.

Our family friendly cottages in Cornwall are in a great location to see the variety of wildlife that Cornwall has to offer, both out to sea and in land. Take the chance to see the stunning landscapes and wildlife around the county or at any of our brilliant wildlife centres and support the conservation of this beautiful part of the UK.
