VISIT ROSAMUNDE PILCHER LOCATIONS FROM THE VALLEY
A quarter of a million Germans visit areas near our Cornwall holiday cottages annually for one thing- they are attracted by the books of British author Rosamunde Pilcher largely and the fantastic locations in German TV adaptations of her work.
Growing up in Lelant in 1924, Rosamunde enjoyed an idealistic childhood, playing around the village, swimming at Porthminster beach, hopping on the train to St Ives, bodyboarding at Porthmeor, and interacting with the port's developing artistic community.
Rosamunde Pilcher is a household name in Germany, not because of the fifteen million sales of her books- but because for the last 20 years she has been a regular on the TV schedules. In Germany as many as six million people in Munich, Berlin, Hamburg and Heidelberg, switch on to catch the latest instalment of one of her dramas.
No fewer than 16 Pilcher films have been shot at Prideaux Place. The 16th century home near Padstow near our luxury holiday cottages in Cornwall.
If you would like to stay where you can be close to these wonderful filming locations then do not hesitate to stay with us here at The Valley.
