Clotted cream gin to be tested at Cornish Gin Festival

May 24th, 2016

For those who enjoy delicious tipples, head to the Cornwall Gin Festival which takes place close to our Cornwall cottages and sample a true taste of Cornwall with a Cornish Clotted Cream Gin.

This fantastic event is organised by Darren Hoare and Matt Pooley, directors of MADA events and takes place on Lemon Quay in Truro on the 25th and 26th of June. The first of its kind here in the duchy the event is sponsored by South Western Distillery and the West Briton, featuring delicious gins from Tarquin’s, Trevethan, Staffords, Rock Samphire from Curio Spirits as well as gin truly inspired by Cornwall, Wrecking Coast Cornish Clotted Cream Gin.

There will demonstrations from mixologists, talks and presentations from the gin distillers, an official gin tasting guide as well as an array of fantastic musical performances and a resident DJ. Plus there will be a pop-up shop from Little Boutique Truro and food from Midtown Deli and the Falmouth Bay Seafood Cafe.

MADA Events are also the brains behind the Oktoberfest and the Street Food Fest, which draw thousands of people to Lemon Quay. Mr Hoare and Mr Pooley teamed up to start throwing their own events out of frustration the vast majority of people thought events stopped at Bristol!

“The aim is to increase trade, build the city’s reputation and show how cool, upmarket and how versatile Truro can be,” said Darren Hoare.

Before Matt Pooley added: “It’s about promoting local businesses at the same time as running events that offer something a little different. We are really looking forward to a really good event in June.”

Tickets, costing £10, including a branded gin festival glass, are available from mada.tickethive.co.uk/ cornwallgin16.
