Falmouth fish and chip restaurant once again named in UK’s top 10

October 20th, 2016

Harbour Lights in Falmouth has been named as of the UK’s top fish and chip restaurants by the 2017 National Fish & Chip Awards, organised by Seafish. We definitely recommend trying some of their delicious fish and chips, serving locally caught fish, when staying at our Cornwall cottages with hot tubs located near Falmouth.

Harbour Lights will now compete with the nine other contenders to get the top spot in the whole of the UK for the Independent Fish and Chip Restaurant of the Year Award.

Restaurants from Lincolnshire, Devon, Somerset, Wales, North Yorkshire, Glasgow and London are the other contenders.

To have reached the top ten, Harbour Lights has undergone appraisals from industry experts, judging on a wide variety of criteria, including fish sourcing, restaurant appearance and facilities, staff training, development practices, menu diversification, and promotional activity.

They also received mystery shoppers who assess the customer service and quality of the fish and chips on offer, and they will expect more in the coming weeks.

The next stage of the competition will cut down the ten to five, and the top five compete for the top spot, with the award presented at a ceremony held in London in January next year.
