New Must-Visit Restaurants in Cornwall

September 18th, 2017

As the days are getting colder and shorter, and the nights are drawing in, a trip to Cornwall to treat yourself seems like a great plan. It is a beautiful place to visit in autumn, and it is also a great time to check out some of the best restaurants that are new to Falmouth and Truro, as there are fewer tourists to compete with for a table! Our 5-star cottages in Cornwall are in a perfect location for eating out at many of the best ones.

Cafe Azur

You really don’t have to travel too far to visit Cafe Azur, as it is based here at The Valley resort! The modern British cuisine is delightful, packed full of flavour. There is a tasting menu at just £30 per person, or you can tuck into a bigger main meal from the a la carte menu.

The Kitchen

Tucked away in the Old Brewery Yard in Falmouth, The Kitchen is a tapas-style restaurant who pride themselves on serving only locally sourced food – nothing is imported. It has rave reviews on TripAdvisor, with people from all over the world stating it might just be the best restaurant in Cornwall!

Chiquito

If you want a place that serves good food and has a welcoming, laid-back atmosphere head to Chiquito’s on the outskirts of Truro that opened at the end of 2016. It is often very busy, so it is best to pre-book, but it’s worth it for the great Tex-Mex style food.

Stavros Greek Tavern

Another lovely Falmouth restaurant – there are a lot! – Stavros brings Greek Cypriot cuisine from Cyprus, offering a range of classic dishes that have been around for thousands of years. This is truly a place to go for something different and authentic in Cornwall.

The Chain Locker

The Chain Locker has had a makeover, and the quirky pub has fantastic views over the waterfront. Serving up traditional Cornish pub food, with daily specials and a range of St Austell Brewery ales, this is a good place to stop for lunch for dinner after a day exploring the town.

Bone China

Bone China has moved to a new premises in Truro and is a lovely place for couples. The vintage cocktail and tapas lounge is open for lunch and dinner apart from on Sundays and Mondays and serves high teas, cakes and delicious rustic, home-cooked inspired tapas.
