Guide to Visiting Loe Beach

Take to the sheltered waters at Loe Beach to try your hand at kayaking, paddleboarding or sailing. The calm waters are also great for swimming and will serve as a tranquil backdrop to your shoreline strolls.

Here’s everything you need to know about visiting Loe Beach.

Where is Loe Beach?

Situated on Cornwall’s south coast where the River Fal flows into the Carrick Roads estuary, you’ll find the lovely Loe Beach. Just down from the quaint village of Feock, this small sheltered stretch of sand and shingle is easily accessible and is an especially popular spot for watersports.

Just a 10-minute drive away from our luxury holiday park in Cornwall, Loe is one of our closest beaches. With nearby facilities and amenities, it’s perfect if you and the family can’t wait to hit the water or want a spur-of-the-moment seaside adventure without having to travel too far from your accommodation.

Loe Beach is also only around a 15-minute drive from Truro and 30 minutes from Falmouth, so it can make a convenient place to stop by once you’ve spent part of your day exploring the vibrant streets there.

Watersports at Loe Beach

Loe Beach is especially renowned for its watersporting possibilities, thanks to the usually calm conditions and the nearby Loe Beach Watersports Centre. The centre (situated right by the beach) provides lessons and equipment hire to help you make the most of your time here.

Popular ways to explore the surrounding Cornish waters include:

  • Kayaking
  • Paddleboarding
  • Sailing
  • Powerboating

The centre is an RYA (Royal Yachting Association) Training Centre, so you can be sure you’re in safe hands when it comes to learning the ropes across all the offered activities.

If you’re itching to get out on the water, you have several options with the Loe Beach Boat Hire – you and the family can take motorboats, sailing dinghies, row boats and kayaks out for a spin.

If hiring any equipment, you’ll be provided with full briefings, guidance on technique and buoyancy aids before setting off on your adventure.

Kayaking is an especially good way to get out on the water and discover the nearby wonders. There are several great picnic spots and inns along the River Fal and Restronguet Creek, so you could take a leisurely paddle and stop off for a bit of food before paddling back to Loe Beach where you started.
