January 22nd, 2015

It may be winter, and the thought of holidaying in the cold may not appeal. Whilst staying inside warm and cosy family friendly Cornwall accommodation at The Valley the outside elements will go unnoticed as you enjoy some quality time together.

Cornwall has plenty of family friendly activities during the winter months and to help you get the most out of your holiday we have listed 5 activities which we are sure you will find enjoyable.

  1. Water sports activities

Have you tried standup paddle boarding yet? This watersport has really taken off over the last couple of years and is sure to become addictive. With its sheltered coast line Gyllyngvase Beach is perfect for you to get started and is only a 10 minute drive from your luxury cottage. Don’t forget to have a go at surfing which is definitely worth a try whilst staying in Cornwall!

  1. Board games in your cottage

Whilst staying at The Valley there are plenty of board games for you to borrow and take to your family friendly cottage. Articulate has been a huge hit with past guests.

  1. Eden Project

With its indoor biomes, activity centre, zip line and, until the end of February, its ice skating rink, Eden has plenty to offer you for a fun family day out.

  1. Mining

Explore some of Cornwall’s mining heritage and take a trip underground into the depths of the mines.

  1. Falmouth Maritime Museum

Enjoy the many exhibitions and craft activities available throughout the year. Coming to the Museum soon is an epic Viking Voyagers exhibition where you too can dress up as a Viking and take part in a battle and see Vikings bought to life!
