Christmas in St Ives will be opened by camels and a sailing Santa!

October 26th, 2015

Every year thousands flock to the nautical fishing town during the summer for mini breaks and family Cornish holidays. However Christmas in the fishing town is set to be just as exciting.

The festivities kick off on December 4, when people can watch the three camels make their way towards the sea front to meet Santa. A departure from his usual reindeer led mode of transportation, this year Santa will be sailing St Ives harbour accompanied by the RNLI.

The camels, rode by the three kings, will join Santa in the Christmas parade around the town. Flocks of people are expected to travel to the town to see this exciting spectacle, which will also feature pantomime characters from the Kidz R Us Christmas Show, a jolly band of puppets, stilt walkers, jugglers and musicians.

This is just one of the many exciting events St Ives has planned this Christmas. Other festive events include Santa railway train rides, Christmas shop window competition, and the switching on of the Christmas tree and town lights, which will take place at the Fishermen’s Huts.
