Fantastic Falmouth businesses up for Cornwall Tourism Awards

A number of Falmouth-based businesses are up for Cornwall Tourism Awards next month, including the stunning Trebah Gardens, which was a finalist in two different categories. When on your Falmouth cottages breaks in the coming weeks and months, be sure to check out these top Cornish tourist places.

Trebah Garden, a finalist in the International Visitor Experience of the Year and Large Attraction of the Year categories, is also named as Highly Commended in the Sustainable Tourism Award category.

The other Falmouth-based businesses named as finalists or high commended in the 25 various categories include The Waymarker, a finalist in the Cafe & Tearoom category and Kernow Adventure Park in the Active & Sporting Experience Award.

Other finalists, all within close driving distance to our luxury cottages, include the Helston Museum at Helston, The Rising Sun pub at Truro, Mylor Sailing School at Mylor and Koru Kayaking at St Agnes.

Finalists were selected by judges, and the winners will be announced at a ceremony next month in Newquay. The annual competition has increased to include 25 categories, as well as seeing entries, increase to 195, 75 of which were selected as finalists.

Malcolm Bell, chief executive of Visit Cornwall said, “It’s great to see the breadth and depth of quality in Cornwall – all the best to all of our finalists on awards night.”

Successful businesses in the Cornwall Awards will be fast tracked to the South West Tourism Excellence Awards, taking place in February, and possibly invited to represent Cornwall in the National Visit England Awards 2016/2017 next year.
