Family friendly events at the Hall for Cornwall this May
May 19th, 2016
As the late May Bank Holiday weekend is just over a week away, why not enjoy some culture and family fun in the next few days at the Hall of Cornwall, which is not far from our 5 star cottages outside of Truro. There is music, theatre and dancing for you to see.
21 May – Graeme of Thrones
If you want some comedy, this critically acclaimed show has come to Cornwall after having sold-out shows in London’s West End. Enthusiastic Game of Thrones fan, Graeme, wants to recreate the show on stage, but his budget is not quite the same. When he learns a big theatrical producer is in the building, he thinks this can be his big break… hopefully nothing will go wrong.
25 May – Some Guys Have All the Luck, Rod Stewart
This show celebrates one of Britain’s biggest rock icons, Rod Stewart. Including all the massive hits from his career, the show stars Paul Metcalfe as Stewart, and he gives it his all with a show stopping performance of the singer.
27 May – We’ve Only Just Begun, The Carpenters
Another one for music fans, this show celebrates the fantastic love songs of the band The Carpenters. There is a live 8-piece band to support Toni Lee as she channels Karen Carpenters sensational voice, and the show will take you on a musical journey of all the big hits from the band.
28 May – Bowie Experience
One of the most authentic and much loved tributes to the biggest pop icon, the Bowie Experience celebrates the sound and vision of David Bowie’s legacy, featuring some of his biggest hits like Space Oddity and Let’s Dance.
31 May – Spy Monkey’s Complete deaths
As Britain celebrates the 400th anniversary of the playwright’s death, this performance remembers the 75 onstage deaths that feature in the works of William Shakespeare. From Romans in Julius Caesar to the tragic demise of Desdemona is Othello, the deaths repeated on stage will range from the outrageously absurd and comical, to the heartbreakingly sad.
