‘Look at me’ travellers to be lured to Cornwall

An up and coming plan to bring more tourists to the British countryside has been unveiled by VisitBritain. Aimed at the so-called “Look at Me” traveller, the idea is to lure the ‘selfie generation’ who spend a lot of time on Social Media out of London as part of a campaign to champion the countryside. The £3 million plan was initially targeted at tourists from Germany and the USA and marketing films have been produced for York and Bath which have a different feel to the usual tourist board offerings.

The hope is that this will draw tourists from the ‘selfie generation’ who will feel that they have discovered somewhere new, post masses of pictures on Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest which will then inspire their friends and followers to visit our gorgeous county and discover their own delights – such as The Valley’s luxury Cornwall cottages with a pool right in the heart of the county!

The campaign is set to feature Cornwall in its first year – bring on the selfie sticks!
