New bubble machine for penguins at Newquay Zoo
October 16th, 2014
A new bubble-making machine has been brought into a penguin enclosure at Newquay Zoo.
Penguins have been enjoying an unusual shower of bubbles as part of the zoo’s enrichment programme. The bubbles are aimed to increase the penguin’s natural behaviour and prevent them from getting bored. This certainly worked and the penguins had such good fun that starting from the 27th October the zoo will be sharing their session with the public and from then on twice monthly.
The zoo has more than 1000 animals and is a great place to visit when staying at The Valley’s child friendly cottages in Cornwall.
If the bubble machine proves to be a success in the long run it will be introduced to other animals – fun for all!
