New figures reveal Cornwall’s high bathing standards
November 04th, 2015
Guests visiting The Valley’s dog friendly cottages in Cornwall will be pleased to know that nearby beaches at Gyllyngvase, Swanpool, Perranporth and Porthtowan were rated as having excellent water quality.
Recent figures revealed that nearly 98% of beaches in Cornwall and Devon passed new European bathing quality tests.
These new tests are twice as tough as in previous years and only one beach in Cornwall was rated as ‘poor’ under the new standards, which was only due to the tightening of the standards. Malcolm Bell chief executive or Visit Cornwall said ‘’ Thanks to massive efforts over the last twenty years by Defra, the Environment Agency, water companies, councils, local communities, farmers and environmental organisations bathing water quality is better than ever.”
Perfect beaches and a warm climate really does make Cornwall a very attractive destination to visit. The Valley’s dog friendly Cornwall cottages are located only a short drive away from most beaches so you can enjoy the clean and clear sea water!
