New Year’s Day dip for brave swimmers
January 04th, 2015
Dozens of brave, or foolhardy, swimmers embraced the chilly waters of the North Atlantic on New Year’s Day to take part in a traditional swim.
The swimmers gathered at Gyllyngvase beach in Falmouth, just a few miles from the Valley, to enter the waters.
Both locals and visitors to luxury Cornwall cottages were among the swimmers, who were watched by a large crowd.
Friends and family watched on and cheered from the beach as they enjoyed the relative warmth on offer out of the water. We’re sure most of them were glad to be staying dry as their brave friends and family members stripped down to their Speedos and took the plunge.
