Penzance to host Cornwall’s first Ukulele festival
January 15th, 2016
For the last two years The Dancing Flea Orchestra have been having quiet sing songs whilst honing their skills and now for the first time ever they are teaming up with The Mill Bar, Branwells Mill and the Music Box to host Cornwall’s first ever Ukulele Festival.
The festival will take place on Sunday 7th February and will include workshops for all levels, live performances from local Ukulele players and groups, open-mic sessions and designated areas where you can teach, learn and practice with others.
During the afternoon The Music Box will be there for advice on Ukuleles as well as Ukuleles and all the accessories for sale.
World-renowned Ukulele star Phil Doleman will be making an appearance in the evening, treating the Cornish crowd to his fabulous skills with a range of Country, Jazz and Blues music whilst including the crowd with a sing along with his unique three-chord strum.
With The Valley’s beautiful selection of Cornish cottages it’s never been a better time to visit and enjoy this new and exciting musical event.
The Phil Doleman concert will kick off at 7.30pm upstairs at The Mill Bar and Restaurant and tickets, priced at £10 in advance, and can be obtained from Cornwall Riviera box office at www.crbo.co.uk or on 0845 094 0428.
