Thousands of people were in Falmouth yesterday to see the spectacular Red Arrows stunt display – and if you weren’t there yourself, check out the amazing footage captured by one of the attendees below.
It was estimated that around 100,000 people were in Falmouth to see the famous squadron pull of the amazing moves over Falmouth harbour, which is not far from our luxury cottages, Cornwall. The near-clear skies were perfect for the acrobatic performances.
The performance drew lots of cheers from the crowd. The display is part of Falmouth Week, which ends on Saturday. A number of events have been held throughout the week, such as the sailing regatta, outdoor markets, music and entertainment evenings and more family fun.
There had been concerns over the weather, as Cornwall saw changeable weather on Wednesday, with blue skies turning to summer showers instantly. However, the skies stayed clear long enough for the pilots and planes to perform.
The day was a great opportunity for families, with things happening from 11 o’clock in the morning leading up to the aerial performance. As the only Red Arrows performance over mainland Cornwall, it really was an extra special day.
The Red Arrows are also set to perform later this year over the Isles of Scilly for their regatta. Check out the amazing video of the display below filmed by CPC Films:
