Stadium for Cornwall proposed for Truro

October 22nd, 2014

Development plans put forward to Cornwall Council’s Strategic Planning Commitee this week include a new Stadium for Cornwall as well as a supermarket complex and new homes. The plan submitted by INOX is one of three development proposals for the Langarth Farm area of Truro near Threemilestone which is only a few miles from The Valley, and is the only one of the three to include a fully funded stadium as part of the proposal. According to many campaigners Cornwall has long been missing a multi-purpose sporting stadium of its own and to have such a facility privately funded on Truro’s doorstep would be a huge asset to the area in drawing in visitors from all parts of the county and beyond. Aside from being the new home of the Cornish Pirates rugby team and Truro City football club, it is proposed that the stadium would host a variety of athletic competitions as well as entertainment events such as music concerts, all of which would provide a wealth of attractions to visitors staying at nearby 5 star self catering holidays in this part of Cornwall.
