The Voice comes to Truro
May 03rd, 2015
The prime-time BBC talent show The Voice will be holding auditions in Truro tomorrow hoping to find the UK’s next big singing sensation. The Voice UK will be at Truro School Chapel only four miles from The Valley Cornwall 5 star cottages, as part of a tour through Poldark country (formerly known as Cornwall) to hear what the county has to offer.
The show, which in 2015 featured celebrity coaches Will.i.am, Rita Ora, Tom Jones and Ricky Wilson, is now in its fifth season. Talent scouts for the show have said they are on the hunt for solo artists or groups with a fantastic singing ability that will make the coaches chairs spin.
Nic Sheriff, events manager, said: “It’s a great opportunity to have The Voice here on Monday – it will be such fun and we have the perfect space to host the auditions.”
Gareth Churcher, head of the Cornwall Music Service Trust based at Truro School, said: “It is great to have BBC’s The Voice visit Truro School. Who knows? – We could find the next global talent right here on our very own doorstep!”
Participants at the auditions must be 16 years or older on June 17 2015 and have the right to live and work in the UK.
Auditions take place at Truro School Chapel, Trennick Lane, between 10am until 1pm. To register a place contact emma.snooks@walltowall.co.uk.
