Tropical Pressure Festival announces its line-up in July
April 12th, 2016
The Porthtown festival takes place from July 15 to July 17 and celebrates the music, dance, art and food from three tropical continents. On the Friday everything will be dedicated to Latin America, Saturday is Africa and Sunday celebrates the Caribbean.
Acts will be flying in from places like Kenya and Colombia to join in the festivities. The festival is great place to explore the different cultures from these tropical places, and the location is not far from our cottages in Cornwall.
Headliners for the Roots Arena Stage on Friday 15 are pioneers of electronic dance music, Sidestepper. Their music is inspired from the organic sounds of traditional dance bands of Colombia, Haiti, Trinidad, Cuba and Africa. The result is a groovy and fluid slice of electro acoustic pop.
Saturday 16 has headliners fresh off an African tour, Guy One & The Polyversal Souls. They are performing their first ever UK show. Sunday sees a huge star of French reggae Mo’Kalamity & The Wizards take the stage in the first UK performance too.
Some of the other performers to appear over the weekend, who will be bringing all types of music and feel good vibes to the festival, are Sana Bob from Burkina Faso, Ramon Vallejo from Honduras, The Kaya Collective from Kenya, Grupo Lokito from The Congo and Cuba, as well as home grown talent in the form of King Nommo, Project Jam Sandwich, Vula Viel, and The Majestic.
Announcements about the late night DJ entertainment plus the workshops available over the weekend are yet to be published. There will be a kids zone for your children to get involved too.
Day tickets are still available. Visit www.tropicalpressure.co.uk for more information.
