Where to Find the Best Coffee in Cornwall?
September 20th, 2019
Coffee – it fuels many of our days and fills us with warm delight with every sip. For those who regularly reach for a steaming cup, it’s easy to find an excuse to head out and enjoy some of the finest. To celebrate this shared adoration for the energy-fuelling and delicious drink, we’ve put together a list of just a few of our favourite coffee shops in Cornwall (although there are so many amazing options that it was a difficult choice)! Which one will you be visiting on your next Cornwall short break or week in the area?
108 Coffee House, Truro
108 Coffee House began back in 2011 as Truro’s first-ever speciality coffee shop. Their aim is “to bring something new to the city, introducing contemporary brewing methods and an ever-changing range of coffees”. The shop has been inspired by the culture of Sydney, where coffee is at the heart of daily life. With ethically-sourced coffees and homemade cakes that make the most of local produce, this Cornish coffee house really makes the most of the local area!
Lily’s of Truro
More than a coffee shop, Lily’s of Truro provides a creative space where you and your four-legged friends are invited to relax, unwind and enjoy a unique setting. The food is all homemade and flavourful; the menu ranges from indulgent treats to meals which have nutrition and health in mind. The independent shop serves single-origin beans which are locally roasted by Yallah Coffee, and each one contributes to a perfect cup!
Jam Records, Falmouth
Having opened in 2003, Jam Records is the perfect spot to enjoy a cup of coffee and also browse through a range of CDs, DVDs, books and vinyl records! It may look like an old-fashioned record shop (which it is), but it offers so much more, from the latest tracks to the oldest classics. Their coffee is exceptional, the squidgy sofas are inviting and the music a pleasure to listen to – it certainly encourages you to come back for more. It’s also the perfect spot for dog-lovers; Rufus is the resident doorman on the block and is always ready to make every guest feel welcome.
Espressini, Falmouth
Espressini is an artisan speciality coffee shop and kitchen. They have dedicated their time to searching for the best beans, the best growers and building relationships with the people that put their heart and soul into producing beautiful beans for the best coffees. Although coffee is their specialty, they also serve a wide range of delicious foods, with brunch being a particular favourite! All of this can be enjoyed in the rustic and serene setting of their shop.
Espressini also have a second coffee shop named Espressini Dulce, which is near Falmouth Harbour and is the perfect place to pick up a fantastic takeaway coffee whilst enjoying the views over the water!
Moomaid of Zennor, St Ives
Moomaid in St Ives is actually an ice cream parlour offering an exceptional range of delectable ice creams made with the famous Rodda’s Cornish Clotted Cream and their very own fresh milk from their Friesian dairy herd! So, if you’re looking for something a bit cooler than a hot coffee, why not try out their cappuccino ice cream instead? This Cornish haven has also recently started selling their own excellent hot coffees, with milk from just down the road at Trink Dairy! We’ve got some good news for those who are dairy/gluten-free, as they have plenty for you too!

Rest A While Tea Garden, Padstow
Rest A While Tea Garden is hidden in a beautiful location with awe-inspiring views and is a real treat for all who visit. Visitors often rave about their famous crab sandwiches and Cornish scones, as well as, of course, their coffees! You’ll stumble upon this hidden gem on the South West Coast Path between Padstow and Trevone and find it to be a welcome break on your adventures!
