Aphex Twin releases first album in 13 years

October 19th, 2014

One of Cornwall’s most famous musicians, and certainly the county’s most unorthodox musicians, is set to release his first album in 13 years.

That’s right, Aphex Twin, otherwise known as Richard James, is making a comeback after more than a dozen years without releasing any new music.

Richard, who only lives a stone’s throw from our luxury Cornwall holiday cottages, announced the news in a style which fits his image as a subversive influence on the music scene – via Tor, a deep web browser typically used for finding difficult to come by material.

The new album will be called SYRO and is already out.

Fans have been waiting with baited breath for the news, after a green blimp with the Aphex Twin logo was spotted above London last week, while numerous pieces of graffiti bearing the logo appeared around New York at the same time.

That news broke this morning when Richard tweeted a link which would only work with the Tor browser, which revealed an image and tracklist.
