Come on down to the Great Penryn Christmas Bake off

The Great British Bake Off has established itself as one of the nation’s favourite television programmes and was a bigger hit than ever this year on our screens. And now for something special leading up to the Christmas period,  the people of Penryn and anyone else who is keen, is being asked to fire up their ovens and get ready for the Great Penryn Christmas Bake Off.

 

Taking place on Saturday, December 13, lovers of all things baking can enter one of five categories for a chance to crowned king or queen of their discipline. They are; cakes, Christmas cake, a maximum of six cupcakes, maximum of four mince pies, and the under 14s competition which is to be judged on the decoration of their baked goods.

This year’s judges will be Dave Mason of Dave’s All Occasion Cakes, who will be joined by town mayor Gill Grant. They will be undertaking the tough task at bar Number 20 between 11am and 2pm, with awards presented at 4pm.
