Celebrate everything great about Cornwall at The Cornish Winter Fair
November 10th, 2016
A sister event to the popular Royal Cornwall Show, The Cornish Winter Fair will be returning to the Royal Cornwall Events Centre in Wadebridge on Saturday November 19th.
The event will promise a day of fun and variety, opening its doors at the under-cover Exhibition Halls from 10am to 5pm. Entry and parking is completely free so this is a local event that everyone can enjoy on their family breaks in Cornwall.
If you’re thinking of starting your Christmas shopping, the Fair will be a great place to begin, as there will be several stalls there selling the best of what’s on offer in the local area. A number of crafts stalls will be there selling a variety of locally created and handmade gifts, while the extremely tempting food and drink stalls will be demonstrating the quality of the county’s local producers. You can also sample some of the tasty food and drink at the pop-up café.
The Winter Fair is also a great opportunity to learn more about agriculture in Cornwall, which is still one of the county’s top industries. There will be activities for all the family to get involved with. Children will love having a go at grooming a horse, as well as visiting the food and farming educational zone and the friendly farm animals they’ll be able to get up close to. The event will also incorporate the Wadebridge Prime Stock Show, where a huge number of categories in both livestock and produce will be judged, from various breeds of cattle and sheep to the largest potatoes. This event has been so successful that it has now been running for an incredible 138 years!
