Cornwall cocktail celebrates the arrival of Princess Charlotte

May 15th, 2015

A Truro café and restaurant has gone one step further in the celebrations of the newest member of the Royal family, Princess Charlotte’s, arrival, by creating a celebratory cocktail in her honour.

The cocktail, named the Charlotte Royale, can be enjoyed at the Falmouth Bay Seafood Café throughout May, and was devised by waitress Hannah Heil. A light and fruity cocktail with shades of pink, made with ingredients fit for royalty, the cocktail is perfect for celebrating the arrival of a special baby girl.

You can enjoy it in the beautiful surroundings of the café and its gardens for just £7.50 during your holidays or short breaks in Cornwall – why not pop down and give it a try? If you’re unable to make it during May, you can also have a go at making the cocktail yourself at home.

To make the cocktail yourself, first go around the rim of a champagne flute with lemon juice and then dust with icing sugar for decoration. Add 15ml of Chambord raspberry liqueur, 10ml of St Germain elderflower liqueur and a squeeze of lemon juice to the bottom of the flute. Finally, pour champagne, brut or prosecco down a bar spoon into the glass so that it has the effect of sitting on top of the other ingredients.
