Dates confirmed for Fowey Festival of Words and Music

February 06th, 2015

The dates have been announced for this year’s much-awaited Fowey Festival of Words and Music, one of the highlights of the Cornish calendar.

Scheduled to take place between the 9th and 16th May, the festival is organised by the du Maurier Festival Society, who celebrate the works of Daphne du Maurier, who lived in Fowey. The festival has been a hit with both locals and tourists since it began, with the events scheduled as part of the festival for 2015 set to be bigger and better than ever.

The schedule is expected to feature all manner of events and activities, including talks and interviews with bestselling authors, exhibitions, theatre, presentations, concerts, guided walks, workshops and even river cruises. If last year’s line-up, which included top authors Lynda La Plante and Ruth Rendell as well as a question session with Richard Madeley and Judy Finnegan, is anything to go by, this year’s festival should easily please all the booklovers out there.

Children are also invited to get involved, with a family fun weekend being held at Trenython Manor, with activities set to inspire children and get them interested in the arts, literature and nature.

If you’re thinking of visiting for the festival, why not book a stay in one of our exclusive cottages in Cornwall? Situated near Truro, Fowey is a short distance away from The Valley, and the location of our cottages also provides the perfect base from which to explore the rest of Cornwall.
