These fantastic events are all happening near our luxury Cornwall cottages

There’s always something happening in and around The Valley, eat delicious local produce at a street food event, join the locals at an annual festival or watch a theatrical performance all a short distance from our luxury Cornish cottages.
Cornish culture celebrates food, literature, music, art, crafts and any seasonal fun with 100% enthusiasm and rarely do we need an excuse to get into the party atmosphere. Having said that, below you will find five events happening near The Valley, a sure fire hit to get anyone into the party spirit on their Cornish getaway.
Padstow Seafood and Beer Festival
Padstow Brewing Co. along with Sperry Tents are holding a Seafood & Beer Festival in aid of The National Lobster Hatchery on the 13th August. Held at the Prideaux Place in Padstow there will be a selection of delicious local ales, lager, cider, wine and cocktails as well as fantastic food, which obviously includes lobster and a host of other exquisite sea food.
There is also some great live music with The Stowes, The Friday Night Band, Masie Tooley, Figurehead, Tankslapper, Toby Lobb, Robbie Sinclair and Eva Questa Cabala already confirming their sets.
Cornwall Pride
This celebration of Cornwall and diversity on the 27th August starts with a parade through the streets of Truro which include floats, costumes, dancing and plenty of love! They use the UK’s longest rainbow flags through in the parade which is always a sight to behold, the parade ends in Victoria Gardens where you can enjoy further entertainment, arts and crafts and food stalls.
Cornwall Folk Festival
Running from the 26th – 29th August the Cornwall Folk Festival has teamed up with Haywood Farm Cider to put on a musical extravaganza over the august bank holiday weekend. National and international musicians will be performing with Cornish talent, providing the perfect folk back drop for this great event. This year’s event sees the addition of a Fringe Tent which gives new musicians the chance to perform and ultimately promote themselves.
Away from the music there are an abundant amount of workshops, children’s events, street entertainment, folk arts, craft fairs and delicious food.
Newlyn Fish Festival
As you can guess this event celebrates all things aquatic on the 29thAugust, with Britain’s premier fishing port serving up arguably the most delicious sea food you can find on our shores.
There are some great cooking demos from some of Cornwall’s top chefs as well as the crowning of Cornish Fishmonger of the Year, always a hotly debated affair! With three music stages, arts and crafts, Fish Tales Tent and bouncy castles, face-painting and the fishy trail for the kids, this is an event not to be missed.
The Little Orchard Cider and Music Festival
Back for a third year, Healey’s Cider Farm, home of the infamous Rattler cider holds their three day festival from the 9th – 11th September with The Magic Numbers, 3 Daft Monkeys and Backbeat Soundsystem set to rock the main stage this year.
This year see’s the BBC Introducing stage once again showcasing local and national musical talents looking to break through to the next stage. There will be over 100 different ciders to try as well as delicious food, circus workshops, stalls and guest speakers revealing all in the art of brewing.
