Top Off Summer with a Ticket to Falmouth Week 2017

June 28th, 2017

Falmouth Week, set to begin on Friday 4th August 2017, is a week not to miss this summer. One of the most anticipated events in Cornwall, Falmouth Week brings a host of events that bring the sleepy seaside town to life with energy, fun and a sense of community. If you’re planning on heading to Falmouth this summer, there truly is no better time to visit, and we have some fantastic child-friendly cottages where you can stay.

A lively carnival will kick off Falmouth Week with a bang on Saturday 5th August, beginning at the Rugby Club and ending at Events Square where a Carnival Party will commence. Witness the fantastic exhibition in the sky from the Red Arrows Display on Wednesday 9th August, as well as the beautiful array of fireworks that will be launched over the harbour on Friday 11th August. Other grand displays will include the ground-breaking show from the daredevil Action Sports Tour, also on Wednesday 9th August. Join in with the Pink Wig Night on the Friday 4th August, the science activities from the University of Exeter’s ‘Science in the Square’ or dance the night away at one of the themed nights hosted at the Events Square throughout the week.

Music acts include the renowned Imelda May, known for her recent contributions that showcase an interesting mix of blues, soul, gospel, folk and rock. Imelda will headline the event on Sunday 6th August, and you can watch her set on the Events Square along with other exciting acts. Falmouth Week still has plenty of headline acts left to announce, so be sure to keep your eye on the line-ups on the official Falmouth Week website.

Once all the excitement of the day’s activities is over, head to the Moor on the other side of town to experience the buzz of the spectacular market. Here you will find the best makers and producers in the South West, with a host of stalls offering an array of treats, from food to handmade goods. There will even be outdoor seating where you can rest and listen to the live acoustic music from some of the best up and coming acts in the South West, while tucking into a bit of scrumptious street food. Also, there will be plenty of craft activities to keep the little ones entertained.

The RNLI will be running several events throughout the week too, including tours of the Falmouth Lifeboat to live action water polo. Their events will allow you to understand the importance of the RNLI charity, their history and can join in with their celebrations of the sea.

You can discover the full-line up on the Falmouth Week website, along with other additional information you may need. Early bird tickets are now available at the official Falmouth Week website. We recommend purchasing them sooner rather than later to ensure you don’t miss out on a fantastic week of festivities!
