Flights from London welcomed with open arms

October 25th, 2014

The news that Flybe is opening a new route from London’s City Airport to Exeter Airport with up to three flights a day is news to Devon and Cornwall’s ears, making it quicker and easier to access the region than ever before. Taking just 80 minutes – faster than the time it takes to travel across London by Tube – it makes for an ideal way to travel down to one of our last minute holiday cottages in Cornwall.

The inaugural flight from Exeter to London takes place on Monday with high hopes that the new route will be a success. South West businesses and tourism leaders are optimistic about the improved connectivity to the area, with the hope that it will improve business connections and provide visitors with an easier way of travelling to the South West.

In addition, Flybe also already runs a route between Exeter and Manchester, which it is adding up to six extra flights a week to its schedule, with their route between Exeter and Newcastle also returning this weekend. All of this is positive news for Cornwall, with the improved routes by Flybe connecting opposite ends of the country, creating a gateway from which people all over the UK can easily access the delights that a Cornish getaway has to offer.
