Inspiring reasons to go travelling

May 11th, 2017

It is often said that travelling enriches you as a person, and many people have said how travelling provides inspiration. We have to agree that going out and exploring, discovering the hidden treasures of the world is exciting and the memories of going on such adventures will last forever.

You don’t even have to travel great distances to experience new things, as the UK has many wonderful places to visit, full of history and culture. Down in the south west, you can book you and your family into our 5-star cottages in Cornwall, and travel around the region, finding many gems and beautiful places you have never seen before. There are many charming fishing villages, gorgeous sandy beaches, dramatic cliffs and rugged moors to see, and friendly people who will welcome you with open arms.

Need more encouragement, here are some reasons why you should travel:

  1. Travelling gets you out of your comfort zone.

If you don’t take risks, you never really discover your true self. You may like playing it safe, but if you don’t try new things, you might never find out what really makes you tick. Travelling can help with that, as you are put into completely new situations. You meet new people and discover new cultures and lifestyles. If you don’t want to plunge into the deep end, start off small with Cornwall.

  1. Time slows down.

We all build up regular routines, revolving around work, school and daily patterns. Though a regular routine builds strong neurological connections which means we begin to automatically do things, taking a break can help you take stock of your surroundings. If you find yourself thinking ‘where has the time gone?’ maybe it’s time for a break, even just a short one. A new horizon can make you stop and think, breathing new life into a stifled life.

  1. You can never be sure what’s ahead.

Many people say it is best to travel why you are young, though those at the age of retirement who are still able to get around enjoy leisurely travel too. As you can never be sure about what’s ahead, don’t hesitate or miss the chance to go travelling, even if it is a road trip down to Cornwall. If you have kids in tow, don’t let that put you off either. There are many more places, especially around the UK which are child friendly, so you can enjoy a mini adventure as much as your kids can.

  1. Travelling educates you.

No matter what age you are, you can still learn new things; in fact, you learn new things every day. Travelling helps with this, as by visiting new places, you come across completely new things. It doesn’t matter if you are young or old, you become educated by the history, the people, the culture, the art, the food and even your surroundings. It is important to want to discover new things, and travelling enables this much easier than sitting at home.

  1. Then there is this reason to travel:

“The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience,” Eleanor Roosevelt.
