Kate and Wills are heading to beautiful Cornwall

August 22nd, 2016

It was announced last week that the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are heading to Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly at the start of September. They might not be staying at our cottages in Cornwall, but they are definitely luxurious enough for any special getaway!

It was announced on Kensington Palace’s twitter feed that they will be in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly over September 1 and 2 at various locations – and its possible you could see them if you are holidaying here in the last few days of the summer holiday.

The palace said the couple would be meeting local organisations and charities, as well as a number of Duchy of Cornwall projects. One of the charities will be The Wave Project which is based at Newquay. The program uses surfing to help children with anxiety and confidence issues.

They also plan to visit Tresco Abbey Garden on the Isles of Scilly, and a mining tour at Truro Cathedral, which is not far from our cottages in Cornwall.

The Palace also tweeted that William and Kate were ‘very much looking forward’ to their trip. The trip will be of interest to the Duke and Duchess, especially when visiting Duchy of Cornwall projects. One of two royal duchies in England, it covers over 23 counties and supports projects for Prince Charles, the Duke of Cornwall.

Aides to the couple have said it will be “a good chance to find out more and meet local people” as William and Kate will become Duke and Duchess of Cornwall themselves, when Charles is king.

This royal tour comes just before they are to visit Canada once again, and there are hopes their two children will join them on their overseas trip.

Whenever you visit Cornwall on your holidays, we are sure you will definitely enjoy it as much as Will and Kate are sure to!
