Lionel Richie adds 2nd date to his Eden Project concert

December 11th, 2015

Soul legend Lionel Richie has added a second date to his Eden Project performance after the first date sold out in 24 hours. Many of the 80’s crooner’s fans were left feeling disappointed after the website selling the tickets shut down after experiencing technical difficulties on Tuesday.

The Grammy, Golden Globe and Oscar winner has seen a resurgence of his career thanks to his performance on the Pyramid stage last year at Glastonbury, where he performed to over 100,000 people, and headed back to the album number one spot with his album The Definitive Collection later that year.

Richie first came to the public’s attention in the 1980’s when he found fame with the band The Commodores where he wrote and sang such classics such as ‘Three Times A Lady’, ‘Stuck On You’ and ‘Easy’.  He turned solo shortly after and established himself as a leading solo artist, securing thirteen top ten hits, nine of which were number ones.

The Eden Sessions are entering their fifteenth year in 2016, and Eden Project Marketing Manager Rita Broe was delighted to confirm the added date of Lionel Richie noting: “we hope that this will enable people who weren’t able to get tickets for the first date to see this global star at our magical venue”.

His set consists of two hours of magic that covers his entire catalog of songs that has seen rave reviews across every country he has played in on his world tour.

Lionel said: “I had such a great time in the UK this year and I can’t wait to visit new places and meet new people. Performing at Glastonbury for the first time was such a thrill for me and given me an appetite to do new things in the UK. I know these shows are going to be very special.”

This is going to be a really special show and one not to miss, why not make it a long weekend and book one of our fantastic Cornish cottages and enjoy all Cornwall has to offer before heading to this once in a lifetime musical experience.

Tickets go on general sale at 6pm on Tuesday December 15 at www.edensessions.com.
