Renowned chef Rick Stein has announced news that he is set to open a new restaurant in Fistral, Newquay, not far from our location in Carnon Downs, Cornwall.
The new restaurant has plans to open this spring and can be found on the famous beach of Fistral, prominent for being one of Europe’s best surf beaches as well as its long sandy stretch of beach, making it perfect for a whole range of visitors.
This week, when confirming the signing of the lease with business partner Jill, Rick said: “It’s exciting to be opening a restaurant on Fistral, even my Aussie friends in Sydney know it; some were lifeguards there in the ’70s. I imagine the restaurant buzzing with people enjoying a great beach and the sort of food you have to have by the water.”
Renovation of the interiors will now begin with eldest son Edward working with Jill on the design. She added: “I’ve always wanted to have a restaurant in Newquay and particularly Fistral. I am very excited to be opening up on the best surfing beach in Cornwall.”
