Take part in the Walk West Festival which is close to our accommodation in Cornwall

June 13th, 2016

When staying at The Valley’s accommodation in Cornwall take in the miles of beautiful coastal scenery by taking part in the Walk West Festival.

The walk takes you through the harbour town of Porthleven, the Lizard and West Cornwall with the festival seeing a total of 17 guided tours taking place with the first walk taking place tomorrow and the festival coming to an end on Thursday. The festival was launched by the mayors of Porthleven, Helston and Penzance – Barbara Powell, Gillian Geer and Mike Lovegrove, which are the three main areas the walking routes will go through.

The variety of the routes means you get to take in the parts of Cornwall you would not normally see on your holidays, such as the turquoise waters of Mullion Cove, dramatic cliffs around Penzance as well as the pirates smuggling route at Prussia Cove.

For those people that like to take advantage of nature’s delicious offerings, there will be a foraging walk around the iconic Porthleven area, where you will learn to identify and eat Cornish flora and fauna.

This event is perfect for all members of the family and why not head to a traditional Cornish pub after your walk and sample some delicious local produce. Just remember a few of the walks are for adults only due to the length of the walk and the terrain.
