The Fal River Festival is still in full flow, don’t miss a second more!
May 27th, 2015
The Fal River Festival near our 5 star luxury cottages in Cornwall kicked off in style on 22 May, but there’s still another four days of fun and festivities to be had, so don’t miss out!
The festival, established in 2006, embraces the culture, locations, people, history, and traditional industry connected to this quintessentially Cornish river. Offering up an assorted mix of events taking place at dozens of places around the water, this superbly diverse festival allows visitors a proper opportunity to engage with life on the river and find out some of its captivating wealth of history.
The Fal River Festival is a ten day event, and is a not-for-profit community festival which incorporates over 150 events alternating between music and drama, to arts and heritage, swimming, gig racing, and wildlife walks, depending on where you are.
This local festival also includes a host of jazz bands playing on the harbour in St Mawes, film screenings on ferries moored offshore and, it wouldn’t be a Fal River Fest without the abundance of seafood for all to sample!
The events are unfolding in Falmouth, Truro and around the Roseland Peninsula, with thousands of people currently flocking to these destinations to enjoy the daily events.
Why not head down and pick up handy tips from celebrity chefs demonstrating seafood recipes, or watch a street theatre performance with the family? Listen to a traditional male voice choir, or if you’re feeling brave, you could even take part in the Castle to Castle swim across the Fal Estuary. The choice is yours!
