The Valley becomes a Cornwall Wildlife Trust Business Member
March 16th, 2015
This week The Valley’s general manager David Reynolds was delighted to be presented with a Business Member certificate by Serena Pettigrew-Jolly of Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
The wild spaces in between The Valley’s pet friendly cottages Cornwall covering thirteen acres of grounds and woodland has long provided shelter for many species of mammals, birds and insects. The sound of birdsong in the mornings together with the frequent sightings of squirrels, rabbits and birds of prey forms part of the idyllic rural retreat experience and is a popular memory that guests staying at the luxury resort take away with them.
Whilst the wild spaces within The Valley’s own grounds are carefully protected and managed, there is a wider need in Cornwall for conservation and education of such habitats, and this is something that The Valley’s management team are recognising by talking on official Business supporter status for Cornwall Wildlife Trust.
As Cornwall’s leading local wildlife charity, the Trust carries out vitally important conservation and educational work throughout the county. To further explain The Valley decision to support the trust David Reynolds said, “Our support helps the Trust manage 57 nature reserves, providing refuge for nationally rare and endangered species both on land and in our seas. We are very happy to help raise much needed funds for the Trust, so it can continue to protect Cornwall’s wildlife and wild places, now and for the future”.
