March 15th, 2017

There are many reasons you should make Cornwall your next staycation destination with our child-friendly cottages the perfect place to stay. This time of year is perfect for a family break, with the first signs of spring, bright blue skies and very few crowds to speak off. Book your Easter holiday in Cornwall and don’t miss out on an excellent special offer.

Here are the reasons why you should make Cornwall your staycation destination:

Exciting wildlife

Cornwall sticks out into the Atlantic Ocean and being slightly warmer and more rural than the rest of England; it is a haven for wildlife. Along the coast, you can see many different sea birds, and you could even spot some dolphins or porpoise along the south coast! There are also seals, and if you head out on a boat ride further afield, you might see more marine wildlife. Head to some rock pools to see some smaller sea creatures. Then back on land, there are otters, deer, badgers and more birds for you to spot.

Interesting heritage

Cornwall has a rich and interesting history, and you and your family will love exploring this side of Cornwall. Head to a museum, such as the National Maritime Museum in Falmouth, stop at some art galleries showing local art and crafts and don’t miss out on visiting one of the mining sites. The mining industry has been a huge part of Cornwall’s heritage, and you can visit mines which are open to the public and head underground.

Delicious food

It’s not just about Cornish pasties and cream teas: Cornwall has become a top destination for Michelin starred restaurants and gourmet dining. Try places like Kota, Restaurant Nathan Outlaw, The Seafood Restaurant or Ben’s Cornish Kitchen. Cornwall is also the place to get lovely, fresh seafood, and you can enjoy some great fish and chips with the fish coming from the days catch.

Outdoor activities

The lovely Cornish sun also provides you with a plethora of outdoor activities to try, from surfing on the beaches, and other fun water sports, to coastal walks along the South West Coast Path and horse riding across the moors and much more. Cornwall is a great holiday location for people who want a leisurely beach holiday, and those who are looking to have a mini adventure while on their holidays.

Stunning beaches

There is no need to travel to the Mediterranean or Caribbean for white, sandy beaches when you can find them in Cornwall! As well as all the stunning beaches you can find along the coast, Cornwall has seven amazing beaches which have been awarded a Blue Flag status for this year too, and the globally recognised Blue Flag means these beaches are the best of the best regarding their environment and amenities. One of them, Gyllyngvase Beach, Falmouth, is close to our cottages.

And the best reason for a staycation in Cornwall is that the cost is considerably lower than going abroad! So, what are you waiting for?
