Truro cream of the crop at national Britain In Bloom finals
October 24th, 2014
Our exclusive cottages in Cornwall near Truro are in attractive company following the news that the city flourished at this year’s national Britain in Bloom finals.
Devoted workers involved with the Truro in Bloom team spent hundreds of hours tirelessly weeding, digging, watering, trimming, and pruning got to swap their wellies in order to get their finest frocks, suits and shiny shoes out to be part of the merriments at the finals which took place in Bristol.
The real jubilation came for the Kernow collective when Truro picked up the Gold and category winner in the Large Town section of the 50th Britain In Bloom, run by the Royal Horticultural Society.
The celebrations and success didn’t finish there as Truro scooped an award in the Community Award category, and a nomination for the team’s efforts at the tranquil retreat of Victoria Gardens.
To give you an idea of the competition Truro was up against, there are more than 3,900 Bloom groups all over Britain, this was whittled down to just 71 for the finals, before the awards could be assigned.
