Truro set for spectacular annual City of Lights parade

November 12th, 2014

A collective of people of all ages from all across Truro and beyond will be putting the finishing touches to their amazing lanterns this week in preparation of the annual City of Lights parade celebrations in the city.

Taking place on Wednesday November 19, the event, which will see the popular cobbled streets of Truro streets magically lit up by the parade of remarkable lanterns, will be taking on a fresh route for this year teamed by an earlier start time of 6.30pm.

Going into the event’s 18th year, the annual celebrations in the city boast crowds of around 25,000 people who visit Truro as they enjoy the sea of creative collaborations between art, music, dance and light.

Each year sees a different theme for the giant paper creations, and this year is no exception with the theme being revealed as ‘Heroes and Heroines’.

Additionally, organisers have launched the City of Lights first ever crowdfunding campaign in an attempt to raise up to £3,000 in aid of supporting this popular festival in the future www.crowdfunder.co.uk/trurocityoflights.
