Truro set to see the return of Gig on the Green after six years

February 03rd, 2015

Previous visitors who’ve stayed in the luxurious cottages, Cornwall may well have heard of this superbly popular event in Truro in the past, but the popular event Gig on the Green hasn’t been staged for the more than half a decade. Good news though, there will be a welcome return for the gig as it returns to Truro’s Boscawen Park once again this summer.

Live music and other entertainment promised a packed day full of fun times for all who attended in the past, at times attracting several thousand people to the park while raising much-needed funds for local charities at the same time.

The greatly-anticipated return means the show can once again help a chosen charity which will be The Invictus Trust, an organisation set up to support teenagers in the Cornwall region who live with mental health problems.

A Truro businessman by the name of Jamie Caruana resurrected the event after becoming disappointed at the news of the old organisers disbanding. He then decided to take it upon himself to bring it back to the busy calendar of Cornwall attractions.

The date for the event, if you want to make a note in your diary, is set for Sunday, August 30.

There will be a whole host of entertainment on offer for anyone looking to enjoy the day, with a main stage providing alternating bands and acoustic musicians, a What’s On stage, a dance music tent, dance performance stage, stalls simply brimming with goodies of all kinds, food, other entertainment, and the all-important beer tent too of course!
