A new video recently released by Visit Cornwall has captured the beautiful Cornish filming locations that the new hit show Poldark has become known and loved for.

The drama follows Ross Poldark, played by Aidan Turner, an army officer who returns to Cornwall after fighting in the War of Independence, to find that his fiancée has thought him dead and married his cousin instead. The majority of the show was filmed in various locations in Cornwall in the summer of last year, while some scenes were also shot elsewhere in the South West.

Many who have watched the show have fallen in love with the stunning scenery which acts as the backdrop for the series, with many now longing to visit the locations featured in the show. The video by Visit Cornwall gives viewers another take on the filming locations, displaying them from the air, surrounded by countryside and coastline.

Some of the locations featured in the video and show include Charlestown, near St Austell, which plays the role of the main town in the series, with traditional tall ships lining its Grade II listed harbour, and Porthgwarra, a scenic coastal location with tunnels cut into the rock and the South West Coast Path offering up fantastic views of the Cornish coastline.

Other Cornish locations featured in the show include Bodmin Moor, Levant, Padstow, St Agnes Head and Truro – plenty of scenic walks to enjoy on your pet friendly holidays in Cornwall!
