There is always something happening in Cornwall, from exhibitions and museums to festivals. When on your Cornwall Christmas holidays, you are sure to come across an event the whole family will enjoy checking out, so we have put together a list of what’s on in the coming weeks in the Christmas season. Come and soak up the Cornish culture with arts and crafts, theatre, music and food!
That’ll Be The Day Christmas Show, Hall for Cornwall
Sunday 12th – Monday 13th November, 7.30pm
That’ll Be The Day returns with a brand new 2017 Christmas Show. The UK’s number one rock ‘n’ roll variety show celebrates with all the Christmas classic from the decades, going all the way back to the 1950s. There will also be some side-splitting comedy to go with the music. Treat yourself to an early Christmas gift and get the season off with style.
Cornwall Macmillan Christmas Fair, Eden Project
Wednesday 15th – Thursday 16th November
Cornwall’s biggest and brightest Christmas Fair is back in November, all in aid of raising funds for cancer patients around Cornwall. This year, it takes place at the Eden Project, on Thursday 16th November, with a preview evening on the Wednesday before. There will be a range of Christmas gifts to suit every budget along with treats from local food producers. Tickets are already on sale, so book now if you are in Cornwall over those dates.
Truro City of Lights
Wednesday 22nd November
Truro’s magical City of Lights is what heralds the Christmas season in Cornwall, and it is one of the most anticipated events of the year. The celebration of art, music, dance and light features a dazzling procession through the city, each year with a different theme. Throughout the day there is music and dancing around the city, before the procession begins in the evening.
Bedruthan Christmas Craft Fair
Saturday 25th – Saturday 26th November, 10am to 4pm
Split over the three levels of the Bedruthan Hotel, there are more than 50 stalls where you can shop for Christmas gifts. There will also be a chance to meet the artisans, see live demonstrations, and even get involved with a creative workshop.
Christmas in Falmouth
Monday 27th November – Sunday 24th December
The month leading up to Christmas is a great time to be in Falmouth as there are so many things to do with the family. There is a live nativity, Christmas movies on The Moor throughout December; don’t miss Elf on Friday 8th December, and the Miracle Theatre is putting on A Christmas Carol, starting from Thursday 14th December.
Sleeping Beauty, Hall for Cornwall
Tuesday 5th December – Sunday 31st December
Edward ‘Kernow King’ Rowe and Granville Saxton return to Hall for Cornwall in Truro in this year’s Christmas show, Sleeping Beauty. Coming from the Hall’s own creative production team, the show is sure to entertain both adults and children alike. There will be music, magic, comedy, romance and heroics. Performances run throughout the day, so check ahead to find out what time is suitable for you and whether that performance has availability.
