UNSEASONAL APPEARANCE IN TRURO CATHEDRAL
30 July 2013
Each year, Truro cathedral has opened up a store in July that specialises in selling Christmas and nativity decorations. This year is no different, with the cathedral's dean, the Very Reverend Roger Bush, not letting the hot weather put a damper on the Christmas cheer.
According to the dean, there is a demand by visitors for a souvenir or keepsake from the cathedral, and the Christmas-themed items proved surprisingly popular. People heading to the cathedral can pick up a quality Christmas decoration that they can bring out year after year and remind them of their Cornwall cottage holiday.
Whilst the snowmen and warmly-wrapped Santas might seem out of place in the summer heat, a visit to Truro Cathedral will still be an interesting one. The centre of the town has an old-fashioned charm that the cathedral adds to immeasurably, with some beautiful architecture making even a short stroll around the city enjoyable.
