Cornwall could be named the Best UK Holiday Destination for the eighth time

July 14th, 2016

Cornwall has been shortlisted in the British Travel Awards to be named as the Best UK Holiday Destination for 2016, and if the county wins, it will be for the eighth year in a row.

Cornwall is in the running against Devon, Pembrokeshire, Yorkshire and Northumberland, and the chief executive of Cornwall’s tourism board Visit Cornwall, Malcolm Bell, is encouraging everyone to go online and vote.

He said: “I have always known that Cornwall is a premier UK destination with a premier offering, but the fact that we are in the running to be awarded best UK holiday destination for an eighth year, and that it is voted for by the general public, makes me feel incredibly proud.”

“Let’s help Cornwall keep the title it deserves.”

There are also some fantastic Cornwall attractions which are up for awards, with Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan both in the Best UK Leisure Attraction category, and the north coast town Bude is in the running for Best UK Coastal Resort.

A Cornwall holiday is always a lot of fun, and there can be something different to do every day. Close to our holiday cottages there are amazing white sandy beaches, cliff top walks, boat rides out to sea to spot dolphins, water sports and so much more.

You can vote for Cornwall here, and support this wonderful county which fully deserves to be named the Best UK holiday destination.
